Our first ever Gardeners Dozen has hit the shelves! We are guessing that the summer heat has maybe taken its toll and your veggie patches & containers could do with a little filling up. Well this is a great place to start. March means we have some hardy veggies like broccoli, beetroot, celery and leeks which will do the hard work to keep your veggie patch producing well into winter. And can you guess the only vegetable or fruit that is never sold frozen, canned, processed, cooked, or in any other form except fresh? Yes, Lettuce it is! So no better reason to have it growing in your own home. Don’t be shy, bring on a bountiful March!
A reminder to keep planting and harvesting on a monthly cycle. Planting now means you keep harvesting 2-3 months hence. When you get there, you’ll thank yourself.
The Gardeners Dozen is a monthly organic 12-seedling tray with a variety of vegetables, herbs and helpful flowers – all locally-adapted, open-pollinated & lovingly-cultivated. The seasonal thinking (what is good to plant right now) and the companion planting thinking (who grows well with who) has been done by our experienced team. We hold the planting calendar – all you do is plant and enjoy the harvest.
